Jack's first tooth is through and his second one is almost there. Its been a fussy few days but we are almost there. Can't wait to have his 6 month pictures done while we are in Florida. Now to find something to wear for him....If only they made xtra tuffs and grundens in his size.

This was Jacks first Christmas. He got all kinds of toys. Most of them are for him about the time we get back from Florida. He also has a new jumper for at home and we got him an around we go. Its kind of like a walker but different and is nice since we dont really have lots of room for him to walk. But he seems to really like it and walks very well and he likes to stand to watch his baby einstein video now instead of lay down or sit. And he also would rather stand and be helped to walk somewhere then try and crawl. He even has the one foot in front of the other down. But I dont think we are ready for him to skip crawling to go to walking. Although a 6 month old walking would be pretty funny. Guess its time to buy some gates :-)
Oh and Nathan and I got some cool stuff too, but I suppose we only got pictures of Jacks. lol

Some things about Jack...
We went to his 5 month appointment this week and the dr. said he is 16 lbs and almost 28 in. long, and apparently his body finally caught up with his head...LOL! However he then said Jack is getting longer faster then he is getting fatter and will probably be a very tall boy. He then smiled and laughed at me and said he wouldnt be taking after my side of the family................Hm! He is hyper active like dad, a picky eater like dad, looks JUST like dad, and will be getting his height from dad. Did my genes happen to slip in anywhere in there???
His favorite food is Prunes....ICK
He LOVES to jump. First thing in the morning is a laugh at dad a diaper change and JUMPING. Who cares about breakfast, he just wants to jump.
He is seemingly pretty patient when it gets to be around meal time. But he HAS to have SOMEONE in sight. He is pretty social, and is not "mommy attached" by any means. He has his moments, but he loves people.
He loves his daddy lots. Every time Nathan comes in the room, Jack squeals and laughs and begs for his attention. If Nathan so happens to not look at him, Jack has a nice tantrum.
He loves bathtime and getting undressed, but hates to be dressed afterwards. Any other time is fine, but he doesnt like it then.
He likes buttons to press. He often grabs at the remote or the computer, and of course when he is told NO he looks at you with a pouty lip and cries. (this has been going on for some time now)
He really likes Baby Einstein and seems to be picking up some of whats going on! He is learning sign language and is starting to learn eat, milk, mom, and dad.
He has figured out how to get on his belly put his head down and his butt up and push himself along. I am hoping for no rug burns on the forehead along the way.
He really likes to watch Cornbread and Bugsy(my moms dog)
He hates to have his face wiped off.
Pretty much Jack has been developing a little personality. It's been so fun to watch him grow. And its been really interesting to see him become basically a little person. Pictures to come of Jacks first Christmas soon. Later

So Thanksgiving day Jack flipped all by himself from his belly to his back and today for the firsttime from his back to his belly. Although he has latley just been barley hanging onto my fingers standing and learning to balance himself and learning to hold onto stuff and balance. Hasnt even started crawling yet....although he gets his rear up in the air and his legs and arms going just not his belly. I dont think it will take him too long to figure it out though. Maybe by Christmas if not by the time we return from Florida. He can scoot himself just mostly backwards though. On his back...he is completley mobile.
34 days till we leave for Florida and 35 days till he sees his grammy and pappy :-)

.....One day my mommy and daddy are going to learn how to put videos on here...but for now I guess they can just use cute pictures......

Every year Nathan and I say we are going to wait till Thanksgiving night to put up Christmas decorations, the first year we got a new cat so i didnt want him to flip out when we pulled it all out so we put it up before we got him. Last year I was pregnant and had energy one night and realized with how sick I was it needed to go up when i felt good....This year...well Thanksgiving will be elsewhere so why not go ahead and have them up. I must say I liked Christmas as a child but I cannot believe the difference of how excited I am for this Christmas with my own child. He even helped put up decorations...ok so maybe he just got into the stuff.

The other day I was giving Jack a bath and realized, WHY do I have toys at all, he would rather play with his blanket and toes then any toys. And in the bathtub, I had some letters floating and some ducks in there too, and he looked at them tried to pick them up and played for a second but as soon as his washcloth went floating by.......He grabbed it and wouldnt let go. Silly boy!

jack is officially cutting his first tooth. He has recently been gnawing away on everything like a cute little beaver. BUT today as he was chewing away on my finger I felt a dent and a little rough spot, once I got his cute little tongue out of the way I saw a tiny little white dot on the bottom in the front on the left side of his mouth! HOW CUTE!!!!!! But really early. I didnt have my first tooth till I was like one. Maybe he will be like Landon and have almost all of his teeth before one so that he can eat real food and not have to like let it melt in his mouth. AND maybe he will have his tooth for his 6 mth pictures with a photographer in Florida....that would be REALLY cute!

Goodmorning! Started out this a.m. very well! Jack went to bed last night just before 10:30 after something to eat and a quick bath and didnt wake up until about 6 or so. He stays pretty regular with sleeping from 8 to 8 1/2 hours, takes a bottle diaper change and back to bed for a nap for at least 3 more hours sometimes 4. He is doing SO well! We took daddy to work and headed to the dr.s office for his checkup only to find out my phones werent working correctly (my cell was dead of course and my house line I am not sure but it may have been partially off the hook) and his dr. had called in sick. So we went to grandmas for a bit. He ate and played for a good long while and is now resting. He pretty much tries to hold his own bottle and I have a couple little rattles and rings and such he plays with and holds on too really well. Its fun to actually be able to play with him. He is doing very well with his rice cereal. He is getting better at actually swallowing it. Anyways. He is up from his nap now and its time to eat!

Finally some pictures. Some of them are a little old, such as the ones from Disney and the visit with my aunt and uncle. BUT I do have some new photos finally. Just taken yesterday! We are enjoying our new apartment. Jack's room is not quite finished. We still have some pictures to hang still and a couple more boxes and I need to find somewhere to store a few things like Jacks cradle from a while ago. Should have it all done by the end of the week.
Nathan got a job. He is working at Ottesons again part time. Wednesday-Saturday 9-6. That's awesome though so I can stay home and work on camp stuff and also be with Jack full time.
Jack has started some very runny rice cereal. He has beeen gnawing on everything including my fingers, watch etc. Not so much sucking just chewing. And drooling everywhere! I havent noticed any teeth that look like they are poking through but yikes he sure does have the signs. Hm. Teeth already?? I dont think I am all that excited about that! I can't believe my little boy is growing up so fast. He goes to the dr. the 30th for his monthly appointment! He was 10lbs and 3 oz and 23 1/4 in on the 31st of Augustso it will be interesting to see how much weight and such he has gained. He is starting to get a little chunky and some little tiny rolls on his thighs!
Tummy time is interesting. Jack does not like the fact that he can't crawl yet. He has his arms and feet going and gets his chest off the floor but after a minute or two, he gets very angry he isnt getting anywhere, so I roll him back over on his back and he scoots along on his feet and back. Very strange. He keeps me busy for sure. He is always moving, and not even mobile yet. Howvever he LOVES his swing. He stares that cow down like nothing else.
This morning when Daddy was leaving for work I was giving Jack a bottle and Nathan came and kissed me goodbye and started to walk away, Jack saw him and I suppose needed his attention because as soon as he was out of sight and started wiggling all around and wouldnt eat until daddy came back in view! How cute is that. So then Nathan told him goodbye and then Jack was fine.
Jack has become VERY picky about the temperature of his bottles. He wants it piping hot. Not warmed or lukewarm but to the point where when i finish warming the bottle it is steaming. If it isnt exactly right he refuses it! What a stinker. He has such a little personality. He likes to make funny faces like raising one eyebrow and give a half a smile when he is interested in something.
And his favorite time to talk and coo is usually during sunday school and church or other times he is supposed to be quiet!
Alright its time to feed him again! Later

So in the midst of unpacking I have misplaced my camera, so no photo updates at this point. However Jack is growing tremendously. He coos an smiles and oos and aaaahhhs all the time. Yesterday I was changing his diaper and playing with his curious george toy and he grabbed it and tried to stick its foot in his mouth. Already trying to grasp at so much. He is starting to respond to his name and my voice a lot more. He has a favorite blanket thats really soft on one side and silky on the other. Grandma was playing with him the other day with his blankie after I had bathed him and he laughed outloud for the first time. That was before daddy showed up. BUT he started doing it for daddy some too now. It's so sweet to see how much he loves his daddy. While I was holding him this morning Nathan came over and Jack started smiling and cooing lots. Then when Nathan walked away he was done, he came back and he started all over again. I have been taking his hands and helping him feel things. So far he feels daddy's beard a lot and cornbreads fur. As for me he likes to have a big handful of my hair and grab a hold of my necklace. I am busily unpacking his nursery so hopefully tomorrow sometime it will be done and sometime I can find my camera and take pictures.

In other news, Nathan and I are almost moved in. We have tons of boxes to unpack still and such, but we are making good progress. Nathan and I decided to postpone my birthday until sometime after we are done unpacking. It just makes it more fun seeing as how I can't even find my kitchen or bedroom. Anyways, off to finish unpacking!

Jack gave me his very first real voluntary gummy toothless grin this morning while I was playing patty cake with his feet! He is also holding up his head a little more now. Still needs quite a bit of help but he can get it up and hold it up for about a minute or two...when he wants to. His new favorite position to be in is to sit in your lap facing out so he can see all thats out there!!!! So many accomplishments in one week.

Jack is at his first hotel tonight. Many firsts have happened for him this last month including his first vacation to St. Pete. Unfortunaltley I forgot to take the camera and get a picture of him in the sand. He will be 6 weeks old tomorrow and is doing so well. Happy 6 week birthday Jack!! He is sleeping between 6 and 7 hours every night! How wonderful for mommy and daddy :-) A VERY content baby, hardly ever fussy except when its feeding time, then he gets serious about getting a timely meal and how dare anyone interrupt it :-)
We are busy getting MANY more pictures taken and I haven't figured out how to upload video yet, but I do have videos of him in the hospital up till now. Coming soon!
